Unfortunately, there isn’t any helpful guide for FBA sellers and job seekers listing the Amazon warehouse locations in Louisiana.

When it comes to choosing locations for Amazon facilities, the company considers the most populated areas of the state.

From the maps provided above, you can see Amazon has at least one facility in each of the large and densely populated counties, except for Calcasieu. Here’s a breakdown of which part of Louisiana the warehouses are:

  • Southern Louisiana: This part of the state has the greatest number of warehouses. You can find several facilities in East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Jefferson, Orleans, Vermilion, and Lafayette.
  • Northwestern Louisiana: Caddo is the most populated county in this part with one massive fulfillment center.
  • Northern Louisiana: Despite having a huge population, Northern Louisiana doesn’t have any Amazon warehouses yet.
  • Southwestern Louisiana: As this side of the state has the least population density, there’s no warehouse in southwestern Louisiana.

Details of Amazon Warehouse Locations in the State of Louisiana

Now, let’s find out more about these facilities. I’ll cover the size, type of work done inside the warehouse, employee wages, driving time, and other necessary details.

1. Amazon Fulfillment Center, East Baton Rouge – BTR1

Address: 9001 Cortana Pl, Baton Rouge, LA 70815, United States

One of the most technologically advanced warehouses in Louisiana, the BTR1 utilizes robotics for order sortation, labeling, and some heavy work. This relatively new facility has employed more than 1,000 workers with a competitive pay range and attractive benefits packages.

Inside this 820,000-square-foot facility, workers pick, process, and ship products like electronics, toys, and small household items. The minimum hourly rate starts at $15. It will take you 37 minutes to get to the facility by car.

2. Amazon Sortation Center, West Baton Rouge County – BTR9

Address: 3101 Webster Ln, Port Allen, LA 70767, United States

From fulfillment centers, products are delivered to a sortation center like the BTR9 for distribution according to the zip codes. In this 278,435-square-foot facility, workers sort and load the items for delivering them to the next Amazon warehouse or at the doorsteps of the customers.

The area has wide parking lots, loading docks, office space, storage, etc. As a package sorter, you can earn $15 per hour or more.

You can also join as an Amazon Flex driver and regular van or truck driver to earn more. From downtown, it’s only a 28-minute ride to the warehouse.

3. Amazon Fulfillment Center, Lafayette County – LFT1

Address: 3550 NE Evangeline Thruway, Lafayette, LA 70507, United States

For the processing and shipping of larger items, Amazon opened this 1 million-square-foot fulfillment center in Lafayette. More than 500 workers are currently working in the warehouse with the minimum wage starting at $16.

The facility is well-known for successfully delivering a huge number of products every day in the neighboring areas. However, the employees are worried about the unorganized authority and stressful environment of the warehouse.

If you take a traffic-free route, you’ll reach the warehouse in 50 minutes from downtown.

4. Amazon Fulfillment Center, Caddo County – SHV1

Address: 1625 Corporate Dr, Shreveport, LA 71107, United States

With the SHV1 warehouse in Caddo, Amazon built the only facility on the north side of Louisiana state. The place will hire 1,000 employees for full- or part-time jobs.

In this fulfillment center, both small and large packages will be processed for delivery. The range of products includes patios, heavy rugs, pet food, furniture, books, etc.

On average, a regular full-time employee can earn $17 depending on the position and season. While the warehouse construction is completed, it’s not fully active yet. From downtown Louisiana, it’s a 3.20-hour drive to the warehouse.

5. Amazon Fulfillment Center, Vermilion County – WLF2

Address: 3221 Veterans Memorial Dr, Abbeville, LA 70510, United States

To complete last-mile deliveries, Amazon opened its very first warehouse in Vermilion County. The WLF2 provided jobs to more than 500 full-time employees.

Here, you can join for part-time and seasonal jobs as well. During the peak seasons, the average wage can be around $17 to $20 per hour. Although the main purpose of the warehouse was to deliver packages faster in the region, the residents were disappointed with the services.

Most customers and Amazon associates complained about late delivery and the inefficiency of the employees. If you start your journey from downtown Louisiana, it will take you 1.31 minutes to reach the warehouse in Vermilion.

6. Amazon Distribution Center and Delivery Station, East Baton Rouge County

Address: 11210 Honore Ln, Baton Rouge, LA 70809, United States

In Baton Rouge, Amazon operated in a tent-like facility for two years. The company decided to lease a 111,918-square-foot facility in the city for faster and more efficient deliveries.

Initially, the workers were paid a $15 per hour minimum hourly wage. According to the reviews, the work environment inside the facility is good but it can be stressful in peak seasons.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of complaints against the warehouse employees regarding late delivery, getting to the wrong address, and long loading hours. Get ready for a 1-hour drive if you want to get to the facility from downtown.

Wrapping Up

The number of Amazon warehouses in Louisiana is moderate compared to more developed and populated states. Amazon has only started to invest in the area, and it has plans to build more facilities to keep up with the increasing orders.

If you’re looking for a well-paying job in Louisiana, you can check out the newly opened Amazon warehouses for an average pay rate of $17 per hour.
