Geographical Distribution of Amazon Warehouses in the State of Colorado

As you’d expect, Amazon has built warehouses in the most populated areas of Colorado. Here are the key areas you need to focus on:

  • Center of the State: To serve the huge population living in the center of the state, Amazon built most of its warehouses in this area. You can find fulfillment, sortation, and distribution centers in areas like Englewood, and Broomfield.
  • South Side of the State: Almost all the warehouses here are located in Colorado Springs. In fact, the largest Amazon fulfillment center is being built on the south side near the airport.
  • North Side of the State: Due to the lower population density, the number of warehouses in the north is also less. The most notable ones are located in Loveland.

Top 5 Amazon Warehouses Location in Colorado

In this section, I’ll get into the details of the most important warehouses in Colorado. Let’s explore the routes, working environment, and facilities related to these buildings.

1. Amazon Fulfillment Center, Adams County – DEN2

Address: 22205 E 19th Ave, Aurora, CO 80019, United States

One of the earliest fulfillment centers in Colorado, DEN2 is also among the largest warehouses covering more than 1 million square feet area. More than 1,000 employees work in the warehouse with wages ranging from $16/hour to $60/hour for different posts.

Reviews regarding the work environment in the warehouse are mixed. Some really like it with all the available facilities while others stated that the pay rate is low compared to the wages. Moreover, the warehouse was fined for not meeting the OSHA safety standards

If you want to reach there, you can take a bus from Hyatt Place Denver Airport and it’s a 78-minute ride to the warehouse. However, it will take you 90 minutes from King Soopers, Aurora to reach DEN2.

2. Amazon Fulfillment Center, El Paso County – DCS3

Address: 5904 Dancing Sun Way, Colorado Springs, CO 80911, United States

Among all the warehouses in Colorado Springs, the DCS3 is the most notable one. The distance from Downtown Denver DCS3 is 81.5 miles and it takes about 1 hour and 17 minutes to get there by car.

Here, the hourly payment rates start at $16.52. Unfortunately, the ratings for this fulfillment center aren’t that good as workers complained about the bad working environment.

Drivers also find it difficult to navigate the area and unload their products. On top of that, a lawsuit was filed against the warehouse during the COVID period for making the employees work extra hours without payment.

3. AMAZON PRIME NOW Fulfillment Center, Denver County – UCO1

Address: 480 E 55th Ave STE 100, Denver, CO 80216, United States

With the UCO1, Amazon launched its first-ever Prime Now hub in Colorado. The purpose of this warehouse is to ship orders in the fastest possible time. It takes only a few hours to 2 days maximum to deliver the products from this hub.

If you have urgent deliveries, take a 12-minute to the UCO1 warehouse. For the workers, salaries range from $15/hour to $24/hour depending on their positions. It’s a great place to work as most reviews for this warehouse are positive.

4. Amazon Fulfilment Center, Denver County – SCO1

Address: 6155 Downing St, North Washington, CO 80216, United States

A smaller yet important fulfillment center, the SCO1 is the closest Amazon warehouse for people in North Washington. As the warehouse is located in a less populated area, it’s typically easier to get into the facility while dropping off or picking up orders.

Reviews from the employees are also good regarding the work stress, responsibilities, and overall environment. Here, an average employee can make $33K to $40K per year. From downtown Denver, it should take about 12 minutes to get there by car.

5. Amazon Fulfillment Center, Arapahoe County – DEN8

Address: Stafford Logistics Center Building 5, 21000 E 13th Ave, Aurora, CO 80018, United States

In this 500-aisle fulfillment center, there’s enough space to accommodate 20 million products. Here, more than 1,000 employees are currently working and the facility stays open 24/7.

The salary ranges from $34,290 per year to $207,812 per year depending on the work hours and employee positions.

As for the work environment, it’s your average large facility where some employees are fine with their surroundings while others complain about the bad management. From downtown Denver, it’s a 23-minute to the DEN8 fulfillment center.

Final Words

While I’ve listed all the notable Amazon warehouses in Colorado, there are many smaller facilities that are not on the list including hub counters, lockers, and similar pickup points.

Besides, Amazon is continuously expanding the number of warehouses in Colorado. For example, it’s planning to build a 4-million-sq-ft fulfillment center in Colorado. To stay updated, catch up with your local news and updated maps.
