A Deep Dive into the Amazon Warehouse Details in Kansas

Ever thought of visiting an Amazon warehouse or working there? In this case, you need to know more than just the locations. Here’s everything you need to about the top Amazon facilities in Kansas:

1. Amazon Fulfillment Center, Johnson County – MKC4

Address: 19400 Montrose St, Edgerton, KS 66021, United States

One of the oldest Amazon facilities in Kansas, the MKC4 fulfillment center is the first warehouse in Edgerton City. The massive warehouse covers an 822,104-square-foot area in the Logistics Park area. More than 1,000 employees are currently working in the warehouse at an hourly rate of $17. and lot of work opportunity in warehouse.

According to the reviews, navigating inside the facility is easy, and loading the products doesn’t take much time. However, workers have some issues with the management team and a difficult training process.

In this non-sort facility, larger products such as furniture, kayaks, large TVs, sports equipment, etc., are processed and shipped by the workers. From the city downtown, it only takes around 15 minutes to get to the warehouse.

2. Amazon Fulfillment Center, Wyandotte County – FOE1

Address: 9400 Leavenworth Rd, Kansas City, KS 66109, United States

In Wyandotte County, the FOE1 is the only Amazon fulfillment center. The state-of-the-art facility covers a 1 million square feet area. Although it started with 1,000 employees, the warehouse has hired hundreds more to meet the local product delivery demands.

The starting wage for new Amazon associates is $15 per hour. While the internal work environment is friendly, the drivers face a lot of issues navigating through the parking spaces and loading docks.

Besides, unloading the products takes long hours which is why many drivers tend to avoid the FOE1 warehouse. If you take a traffic-free route, you can get to the warehouse in 18 minutes.

3. Amazon Fulfillment Center, Sedgwick County – ICT2

Address: 7130 N Broadway St, Park City, KS 67219, United States

One of the largest Amazon warehouses in Sedgwick County, the ICT2 facility opened in 2021. The 1-million-square-foot warehouse started its journey with more than 1,000 employees. From this facility, large orders are distributed in the entire Park City and parts of Wichita.

Here, a regular worker can earn around $16 per hour on average. Reviews by the workers and delivery drivers for this warehouse are mixed. Some are satisfied with the pay range and helpful co-workers.

On the contrary, most drivers complained about the automated system that often fails to function properly. The warehouse is only 5 to 7 minutes away from Park City downtown by car.

4. Amazon Sortation Center, Johnson County – MCI5

Address: 16851 W 113th St, Lenexa, KS 66219, United States

The MCI5 facility is the only sortation center in Kansas State. Located in Lenexa city, the warehouse is smaller than a typical fulfillment center, covering only a few thousand square feet of area.

However, it still has around 500 active workers getting an average hourly rate of $17. From what I’ve seen in the reviews, the work culture and team management inside the warehouse is great.

However, the drivers aren’t efficient when it comes to following customer’s instructions. You can drive to the warehouse from the city downtown within 15 minutes.

5. Amazon Delivery Station, Sedgwick County – WKS1

Address: 4044 N Toben St, Wichita, KS 67226, United States

For Amazon drivers, the WKS1 warehouse is a preferable workplace as it’s one of the highest-paying Amazon facilities. As the name suggests, Amazon products are temporarily stored in this warehouse for last-mile deliveries.

The salary range for drivers is $19 to $23 per hour, depending on their designated class. Despite the high pay range, the services are questionable as the customers and sellers often complain about late delivery and wrong addresses. You can get to the warehouse in 15 to 20 minutes by car.

Wrapping Up!

In the last few years, Amazon has built 4 new different types of amazon warehouses in Kansas. The state has an amazing workforce and great industrial sites. As a result, Amazon will be building or leasing more warehouses in more cities.

If you’re an FBA seller or someone looking for a high-paying job, check the local news to stay updated about the opening of new Amazon facilities.
