Best Furniture Dropshipping Suppliers (USA): Costway, TopDawg and More

Table of Contents

The best furniture dropshipping suppliers ship bulky items from US warehouses, handle freight, and have a clear damage policy. Costway runs its own dropship program with tiered discounts of 18% to 22% and delivery typically in 2 to 7 business days. HomeRoots offers home furnishings from US warehouses through a Shopify app. Platforms like TopDawg, Wholesale2B and Syncee add furniture and home decor from many suppliers. Furniture is harder to dropship than most products: shipping is expensive, damage claims have tight deadlines (Costway asks for photos within 48 hours), and federal rules apply, including the CPSC tip-over standard for dressers and the upholstered furniture flammability label.

Below I compare suppliers, explain freight and damage, cover the safety rules, and show how I’d start a furniture or home decor store.

Furniture dropshipping suppliers compared

From each supplier’s own pages, checked October 10, 2026:

Supplier What it offers Ships from Stated delivery Pricing and terms
Costway Own dropship program; furniture and decor among its categories US Typically 2 to 7 business days Tiered discounts of 18%, 20% and 22% by monthly sales; no additional fees; orders paid in full before dispatch
HomeRoots Hundreds of thousands of home furnishing products USA-based warehouses; ships across the US and Canada Not stated Shopify app; first 10 product imports free; lists LTL carriers
TopDawg Home decor and furniture department within a US supplier marketplace US 2 to 5 day US shipping (USPS, UPS, FedEx) Start-Up $0; Business $34.99/month; Scale $69.99; Premier $139.99 (billed annually)
Wholesale2B Furniture from suppliers including Costway and HomeRoots Varies by supplier Varies Plans vary; check its pricing page
Syncee Furniture and home and garden categories Varies by supplier Varies Free plan; Basic $39.99/month; 3-day trial
Doba Home, garden and tools category, US-stocked products US Varies From $28.67/month, billed quarterly

Two notes. Costway says resale on Amazon is strictly prohibited under its program, so plan to sell on your own store. And HomeRoots’ Shopify app had only two reviews (2.9 stars) when we checked, so test it carefully before relying on it.

My take: start with smaller furniture and home decor that ships by parcel, such as side tables, shelves, mirrors, lamps and wall decor. Large items that need freight trucks carry more damage risk and much higher return costs.

Freight, damage and returns

Furniture splits into two shipping worlds:

  • Parcel: small and flat-packed items go by USPS, UPS or FedEx. TopDawg’s 2 to 5 day figure applies here.
  • Freight (LTL): large items like sofas and beds often ship by less-than-truckload carriers. HomeRoots lists LTL carriers in its integrations.

Damage is the biggest risk. Costway’s terms, for example, give 90 days for returns but require damage to be reported within 48 hours with photographic evidence, and refunds exclude shipping. That means:

  1. Tell customers, at checkout and in the delivery email, to inspect items and photograph any damage immediately.
  2. Forward claims to the supplier the same day.
  3. Price products so the occasional damaged delivery doesn’t wipe out your margin.

We didn’t find a supplier advertising white-glove delivery (in-home setup) for dropshipped furniture. If your customers expect assembly, say clearly that items arrive flat-packed or boxed.

Safety rules for furniture sellers

Two federal rules matter most for a furniture store.

Clothing storage tip-over standard. The CPSC’s rule for clothing storage units, such as dressers and chests, applies to units manufactured after September 1, 2023. It covers free-standing units at least 27 inches tall, weighing 30 pounds or more, with at least 3.2 cubic feet of enclosed storage. They must pass stability tests, carry warning labels, and come with an anti-tip device. Ask your supplier for test reports before listing any dresser or chest.

Upholstered furniture flammability. Under 16 CFR 1640, upholstered furniture must comply with California’s TB 117-2013 smolder standard, effective June 25, 2021. Since June 25, 2022, it must carry a label stating it complies with US CPSC requirements for upholstered furniture flammability. California has its own labeling requirements too. Check the label on samples before you sell sofas or upholstered chairs.

Honestly, these rules are why I’d avoid dressers and upholstered pieces at the start. A shelf or a lamp carries far less compliance risk than a six-drawer chest.

Which furniture products suit dropshipping?

Product type Shipping Damage risk Safety rules My verdict for a first store
Wall shelves and floating shelves Parcel Low Few Good start
Side tables and plant stands Parcel (flat-packed) Low to medium Few Good start
Mirrors Parcel Medium (glass) Few Good with strong packaging
Table and floor lamps Parcel Medium Electrical safety listings Check certification
Office chairs Parcel (boxed) Medium Few Good, with clear assembly info
Dressers and chests Parcel or freight Medium CPSC tip-over standard Later, with test reports
Sofas and upholstered chairs Freight High Flammability label Later, with a freight plan
Beds and bed frames Freight or large parcel High Varies Later

Use the table as a starting filter. I’d launch with the top rows, prove the store works, and add freight items only once your damage process runs smoothly. Honestly, a calm first season with shelves and lamps teaches you more than a chaotic one with sofas.

Home decor dropshipping

Home decor is the easier half of this niche. Wall art, mirrors, cushions, throws, vases, candles and lighting are lighter, cheaper to ship and less likely to break than large furniture. TopDawg, Syncee and Costway all list decor categories.

A few tips for decor:

  • Bundle by room or style. A “living room refresh” set raises order value.
  • Show scale. Photograph items in a room, with dimensions in the first image.
  • Check fragile items. Glass and ceramics need good packaging. Order a sample and see how it arrives.

For candles specifically, see our guide to private label candle companies.

How I’d start a furniture or home decor store

  1. Pick a style. Mid-century, farmhouse, minimalist. A clear look makes the store feel curated.
  2. Choose 20 to 30 products that ship by parcel, from one or two suppliers.
  3. Order samples of your top five. Check assembly, quality and packaging.
  4. Write a damage and returns policy that matches your supplier’s deadlines.
  5. Add dimensions and room photos to every listing.
  6. Set delivery expectations at checkout, including any freight items.

In my view, curation is the whole business model. Shoppers can find a side table anywhere. They come back to a store whose taste they trust.

Mistakes new furniture stores make

  • Starting with sofas and beds. Freight, damage and returns are expensive.
  • Missing damage deadlines. A 48-hour window passes fast.
  • Vague dimensions. “Fits most spaces” leads to returns.
  • Ignoring safety labels. Tip-over and flammability rules apply to you as the seller.
  • Selling on a marketplace your supplier forbids. Read the program terms.
