The best Amazon FBA course for most beginners is free: Amazon Seller University, which covers more than 125 topics in more than 15 languages. If you want a structured paid program, Helium 10’s Freedom Ticket comes included with Helium 10 Platinum and above, Jungle Scout Academy is built into Jungle Scout accounts, Proven Amazon Course costs $39 a month or $999 for life, and Amazing Selling Machine costs $1,997 with a year of coaching. Whatever you pick, watch for the red flags the FTC keeps finding in “done for you” Amazon programs.
Prices below were checked on each provider’s own site in October 2026.
The courses compared
| Course | Price (as published) | What you get | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon Seller University | Free | 125+ topics, 15+ languages, plus a YouTube channel | Everyone, first |
| Helium 10 Freedom Ticket | Included with Helium 10 Platinum ($129/month, or $99/month yearly) and above; normally $997 standalone | 9 core modules plus 10+ bonus modules, taught by Kevin King | Sellers who’ll use Helium 10’s tools anyway |
| Jungle Scout Academy | Built into a Jungle Scout account | 130+ videos | Sellers who’ll use Jungle Scout’s tools |
| Proven Amazon Course | $39/month or $999 one-time | Lifetime option includes a 30-minute consultation; 30-day refund window | Budget-minded learners who want a community |
| Amazing Selling Machine | $1,997, including 12 months of membership (then $97/month) | 8 modules, 75 lessons, 80+ recorded and 52 weeks of live coaching; 14-day money-back guarantee | Sellers who want structured coaching |
My take. Start with Seller University, because it’s free and comes from the source. Add a paid course only when you know which gap you’re filling: product research, sourcing, or advertising. If you’ll pay for a research tool anyway, the course bundled with it is the best value.
ASM’s own site notes that some customers have little to no profit. I’d read that line twice. No course guarantees results.
The FTC red flags: what to avoid
The FTC has repeatedly shut down Amazon and e-commerce “business opportunity” schemes. Recent examples:
- Automators AI: a 2024 settlement with a judgment of about $21.8 million and a lifetime ban on selling business opportunities or e-commerce coaching.
- FBA Machine / Passive Scaling: took more than $15.9 million based on deceptive earnings claims that rarely, if ever, materialized; its operator was permanently banned in 2025.
- Click Profit: took at least $14 million, with fees of $45,000 and up; about 95% of its stores were blocked, suspended or terminated by Amazon.
- Ecommerce Empire Builders: sold training for nearly $2,000 and “done for you” stores for as much as $35,000, claiming clients could make $10,000 a month.
The FTC’s own advice: no one can guarantee you’ll make lots of money with little to no risk, and anyone who does is a scammer. Its Business Opportunity Rule also requires sellers of business opportunities to give buyers specific information to help evaluate them.
Red flags I’d walk away from:
- Guaranteed income or specific monthly earnings promises.
- “Done for you” stores that you pay for but don’t control.
- Pressure to buy today, before a price rises or a spot disappears.
- Upsells into five-figure “coaching” or “partnership” tiers.
- No clear refund policy in writing.
Course or hands-on help?
A course teaches you the steps. It doesn’t do product research, negotiate with suppliers, build listings or run ads for you. Some sellers learn best by doing it themselves; others would rather work alongside an operator.
That’s the gap our Amazon FBA Accelerator Program fills: product research, sourcing, listings, launch and ads in one guided program, with a real operator alongside you rather than another course. Honestly, it isn’t the cheapest route, and it isn’t right for everyone. If you’re on a tight budget, Seller University plus your own practice is a sound start.
Before you invest in either, read whether selling on Amazon FBA is worth it for you, and how it compares with affiliate marketing.
How to choose a course
- Match it to your stage. Beginners need fundamentals; existing sellers need advertising and scaling depth.
- Check who teaches it and whether they still sell.
- Read the refund policy before you pay.
- Prefer courses bundled with tools you’ll use. Duplicate subscriptions add up.
- Budget for inventory. A course is not the business. Product, samples and launch ads cost more.
FAQ
What is the best free Amazon FBA course?
Amazon Seller University. It’s free, comes from Amazon, and covers more than 125 topics in more than 15 languages.
Is Amazing Selling Machine worth it?
It costs $1,997 including a year of coaching. It’s structured and thorough, but its own site notes some customers make little or no profit, so treat it as education, not a guarantee.
Is Helium 10 Freedom Ticket free?
It’s included at no extra charge with Helium 10 Platinum and higher plans. On its own it’s listed at $997.
How do I spot an Amazon FBA course scam?
Watch for guaranteed earnings, paid “done for you” stores, pressure to buy now, five-figure upsells and vague refund terms. The FTC has shut down several schemes with those traits.
Do I need a course to sell on Amazon?
No. Many sellers start with Seller University and learn by doing. A paid course helps if it fills a specific gap.
What’s the difference between a course and an accelerator program?
A course teaches the steps. A hands-on program works on your business with you, from product research to launch.
