\nvariation. I’d bookmark the parent rather than searching for it each time.<\/p>\n

Add the new value on the existing theme.<\/strong> A new color if the family varies by color. The form will
\nusually pre-fill the theme, which is a useful confirmation that you have the right parent.<\/p>\n

Complete the child’s own attributes:<\/strong> SKU, price, quantity, condition, and any mandatory fields for the
\ncategory. Populate everything, including the optional safety and compliance attributes, because a blank field
\nquietly removes you from filters shoppers are using. In our experience that omission costs more than it looks like it should.<\/p>\n

Upload images for the child specifically.<\/strong> Each variation needs its own main image depicting that
\nvariation, and a family where three colors share one photograph converts worse than it should. When I have audited variation families, shared imagery was the most frequent defect.<\/p>\n

\nthem is an error rather than a shortcut, and I’d double-check the cells are genuinely empty.<\/p>\n

Upload, then read the processing report properly.<\/strong> Not just the summary count. The report names the row
\nand the field, which is the only efficient way to fix a failed batch. When I have watched somebody
\nstruggle here, they were re-uploading blind rather than reading the report.<\/p>\n

Do it in a small batch first.<\/strong> Two children, confirm the structure works, then run the rest. I’d never

Six errors, and five have the same handful of causes.<\/p>\n
