Tracking labels<\/strong> on the product and its packaging, carrying the manufacturer, location and date of
\nproduction, and batch information. Easy to forget at the factory stage. Expensive to retrofit.<\/p>\n

Rule-specific standards.<\/strong> Lead content, phthalates, small parts, and for durable infant and toddler
\nproducts, additional requirements including registration cards. Which rules apply depends on the product,
\nso I’d get this confirmed rather than guessed.<\/p>\n

Amazon’s own document request.<\/strong> Amazon asks for compliance documents through Seller Central’s
\ncompliance portal, sometimes at listing and sometimes later. In our experience “later” is the dangerous
\none, because inventory is already in a fulfillment center.<\/p>\n

A point worth being blunt about:<\/strong> if your supplier cannot produce lab reports from an accepted lab,
\nthey are not a viable supplier for this category. No amount of listing work fixes that.<\/p>\n

Gating, and how to check it in ten minutes<\/h2>\n

Some baby subcategories are restricted. Others are wide open.<\/p>\n

Attempt to create the listing in Seller Central and read what Amazon asks for.<\/strong> That is the entire
\ncheck, it costs nothing, and it happens before you commit money.<\/p>\n

Expect more scrutiny on safety-critical items:<\/strong> car seats, cribs, sleep products, anything load-bearing
\nor sleep-related. Amazon has tightened repeatedly on infant sleep in particular.<\/p>\n

Baby food and formula are a separate world<\/strong> with their own requirements. If that is your product, treat

Brief, because it is the least interesting part and the most quoted.<\/p>\n

A Professional selling plan<\/strong> makes sense above roughly 40 units a month, since it replaces the per-item
\nfee with a monthly subscription. Check the current subscription figure in Seller Central rather than any
\nnumber in an article.<\/p>\n

Referral fees in Baby Products are tiered by price.<\/strong> Amazon charges a lower percentage on low-priced
\nitems and a higher percentage above a threshold, so a $9 product and an $11 product are not charged the
\nsame rate.<\/strong> That threshold matters if your pricing sits near it, and I’d model both sides of it before

Images: scale, what is in the box, and the product in use.<\/strong> Scale matters enormously here because

Safety complaints or a recall on a component.<\/strong> Sometimes not your product at all, but a shared
\ncomponent. Worth knowing your supply chain deeply enough to answer quickly.<\/p>\n

The listing is live. Now the parts that actually move units.<\/p>\n

Reviews carry unusual weight here<\/strong> because the buyer is making a decision about somebody else’s safety.
\nA thin review count suppresses conversion more in baby than in most categories, and in our experience
