Amazon Seller Central Partner Network (SPN): How to Use It

Table of Contents

The Amazon Seller Central partner network is the Service Provider Network (SPN): Amazon’s directory of vetted third-party providers that help sellers with almost every part of selling, from account management and advertising to imaging, compliance, taxes and shipping. Amazon launched it in 2014, and it now spans 20+ marketplaces and over 3,000 providers. You find it in Seller Central under Apps and Services, then Explore Services, or through the public SPN directory. Amazon vets providers, but it doesn’t endorse them, so choosing well is still your job.

I’ll cover what the SPN offers, how Amazon vets providers, how it differs from the Amazon Ads partner network, and how I’d pick a provider. Vetting helps. Judgment still matters.

What you can find in the SPN

The public SPN directory lists categories including:

Category Typical help
Account Management Day-to-day account and catalog management
Advertising Optimization Sponsored ads management
Cataloging Listing creation and fixes
Enhanced Brand Content A+ content design
Imaging Product photography
Compliance Product compliance and testing
Accounting and Taxes Bookkeeping, VAT and sales tax
FBA Preparation and Storage Prep, labeling and warehousing
International Shipping and Returns Cross-border logistics
Translation Listings for other marketplaces
Training Seller education
IP Accelerator Trademark filing through vetted law firms

The directory also lists manufacturing, excess inventory and sustainability providers. Amazon says sellers can contact providers directly, add reviews, and access discounted service rates.

How Amazon vets providers

Amazon says it vets all service providers, continuously monitors performance, and shares verified reviews and ratings. Providers must meet a required set of standards and be trained on Amazon guidelines and policies. On the provider side, Amazon describes a three-step check:

  1. Identity verification.
  2. Policy compliance review.
  3. Capability evaluation: experience in e-commerce, scale of operations, and track record serving Amazon sellers.

The important disclaimer: Amazon lists providers as an informational resource and does not endorse any provider or its services. Vetting sets a floor. It doesn’t guarantee results.

SPN vs the Amazon Ads partner network

They’re separate directories:

Service Provider Network Amazon Ads Partner Network
Run by Amazon selling partner services Amazon Ads
Covers Account, catalog, compliance, logistics, tax, imaging and more Advertising agencies and ad tools
Badges Vetted providers with verified reviews Verified and Advanced partner status for proven ad expertise

Amazon Ads awards Verified and Advanced status to partners who have shown expertise, engagement with Amazon Ads and success delivering growth for advertisers; Advanced status requires product adoption and Learning Console certification criteria, among others. If you’re hiring for advertising, check both directories.

Using the Amazon Seller Central partner network to choose a provider

  1. Start with the category, then filter by marketplace and language.
  2. Read verified reviews and completed service requests. Amazon specifically suggests looking at reviews, completed requests, specialties and reference prices.
  3. Ask for examples of accounts like yours: same category, similar size.
  4. Agree scope in writing: what they’ll do, what they won’t, how they report, and how you can leave.
  5. Keep account ownership. Grant user permissions in Seller Central; never share your login.

Honestly, I think the best test is a small, defined first project. A provider who does a listing audit well usually does the bigger work well too.

Questions I’d ask any provider

  • What exactly is included each month, and what costs extra?
  • Who on your team works on my account day to day?
  • How often will you report, and what metrics will you show?
  • What access do you need in Seller Central, and why?
  • How do we end the engagement, and what do I keep?
  • Can I speak with a current client in my category?

Prices vary widely by service and scope, so compare written proposals, not headline rates. In my opinion, a provider who answers these clearly is worth more than one who answers cheaply.

When to use a provider, and when not to

Use one when the work is specialized (compliance, international tax, advertising at scale) or when your time is worth more on product and sourcing. Keep in-house what defines your brand: product decisions, supplier relationships and customer voice.
